On January 20th, The Civil Wars singer Joy Williams releases a beautiful cover of Duran Duran’s “Ordinary World,” which first debuted in 2013 on “Grey’s Anatomy.” Joy released her version of the song on Donald Trump’s inauguration as a way to lend support to all the intense feelings surrounding the day.

On February 9, the Savoy’s Beaufort Bar in London unveiled a tunnel cocktail menu that guides guests through some of the hotel’s most memorable events, including the drink ‘By Invitation Only,’ which was inspired by the band filming the music video for “Girl Panic” at the venue in 2011.

“Last Night in the City (featuring Kiesza)”

On March 9, Duran Duran release a digital EP of remixes of “Last Night in the City (featuring Kiesza).” The Paper Gods album track has been remixed by four world class DJs – TOKiMONSTA, Kant, Louis Vivet and Koishii & Hush – putting their own spin on the song Rolling Stone described as a “standout” from the 2015 LP.

Dare To Be Different Documentary
April 27, 2017
On April 27, “Dare to Be Different,” a film about the radio station WLIR and featuring several clips from an interview with Nick, premieres at the TriBeCa Film Festival. It is also revealed during Nick’s interview that the band won 13 “Screamer of the Week” fan-voted best song contests.

Producer Jason Corsaro passed away on August 16 at the age of 58. On August 20, John posted this tribute online: “One of the most important sonic architects of what might be called ‘The Eighties Sound’ and a personal friend, we mourn the passing of Jason Corsaro. Jason mixed the ARENA live album than moved to London to work with Nile on “Wild Boys,” then working with Bernard on “A View to a Kill.” His massive contribution to the Power Station got his face on the album cover. His sound will live forever”
