On January 1, 2017, Duran Duran perform for a second night at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

On January 8th at the 02 Brixton Academy in London, Simon is the special guest at the Celebrating David Bowie concert, curated by Sterling Campbell. Simon performs “Let’s Dance” with the London Community Gospel Choir.

Simon appears on the debut of the new Italian TV show MUSIC, which airs on on January 11th on Channel 5. He performs “In A Broken Dream,” originally recorded by Python Lee Jackson with Rod Stewart on lead vocal.

On January 20th, The Civil Wars singer Joy Williams releases a beautiful cover of Duran Duran’s “Ordinary World,” which first debuted in 2013 on “Grey’s Anatomy.” Joy released her version of the song on Donald Trump’s inauguration as a way to lend support to all the intense feelings surrounding the day.

On February 9, the Savoy’s Beaufort Bar in London unveiled a tunnel cocktail menu that guides guests through some of the hotel’s most memorable events, including the drink ‘By Invitation Only,’ which was inspired by the band filming the music video for “Girl Panic” at the venue in 2011.

On March 6, KLOS in Los Angeles airs “The Session,” which chose Duran Duran’s “Rio” to discuss and analyze during the hour-long show

On March 9, Duran Duran release a digital EP of remixes of “Last Night in the City (featuring Kiesza).” The Paper Gods album track has been remixed by four world class DJs – TOKiMONSTA, Kant, Louis Vivet and Koishii & Hush – putting their own spin on the song Rolling Stone described as a “standout” from the 2015 LP.

Duran Duran announces 4 more dates in the US and Canada. The July dates will take place in Oakland, San Francisco, Edmonton and Hawaii.

At the band’s March 26 performance at Lollapalooza Brasil, they are joined on stage by famed Brazilian singer Céu on “Ordinary World.” They enjoyed performing with each other so much that she joined them again at their solo show at BH Music Hall on March 29.

On April 7, Sirius XM Volume channel premieres the track “Band-Aid” by Halo Circus, remixed by John Taylor.

On April 10, the Huffington Post runs an article, “Why a Phenomenon Like Duran Duran May Never Happen Again,” wherein writer Kristi York Wooten says about Duran Duran “an artist will only succeed decades into the future if the music is built to do the same.”

On April 27, “Dare to Be Different,” a film about the radio station WLIR and featuring several clips from an interview with Nick, premieres at the TriBeCa Film Festival. It is also revealed during Nick’s interview that the band won 13 “Screamer of the Week” fan-voted best song contests.

On May 10, Duran Duran celebrate the 35th anniversary of the release of their album RIO with an oral history posted on duranduran.com. Sirius XM Radio also celebrates #rio35, with station 1st Wave playing a track (with band commentary) from RIO every hour of the day, as well as live interviews with Nick and John on other channels.

On May 18, Duran Duran are a special guest performer at the SALT (The SkyBridge Alternatives) Conference in Las Vegas.

Devastated by the events that occurred at Manchester Arena on May 22, the band release this statement: “Deeply sad to hear about what happened in Manchester, and to all the innocent fans who were involved in this heinous and mindless action. Our thoughts are with all the people who were there and especially those who have been injured.”

After the May 23 death of actor Roger Moore, John posted, “One of my favorite actors, first as Simon Templar then as Lord Brett Sinclair. We got to work with him when he was Bond in “A View to a Kill” and he was the nicest fella. After meeting him, my mum was never the same again.”

Simon participates in the Modena Cento Ore classic car Grand Prix race the week of June 5. His vehicle is sponsored by Maison Corthay and Cifonelli but unfortunately he has to leave the race mid-way thru.

On John’s birthday, June 20, Duran Duran returned to the Louvre in Paris in a performance under the iconic pyramid. As in 2013, this special show benefitted The American and International Friends of the Louvre and Venetian Heritage.

On June 21, Simon posted the following: “Ann Marie Le Bon died willingly & peacefully in night of June the 19th. She’s the person I’ve known for the longest in my life. We are all very sad. But she has left us with her overwhelming love, which she planted as seed in all of our hearts.”

On Duran Duran Appreciation Day 2017 (August 10) the band release two videos on YouTube created using VR technology which showed the band performing in 360 degrees. Watch them perform “Paper Gods” & “Hungry like the Wolf” here.

Producer Jason Corsaro passed away on August 16 at the age of 58. On August 20, John posted this tribute online: “One of the most important sonic architects of what might be called ‘The Eighties Sound’ and a personal friend, we mourn the passing of Jason Corsaro. Jason mixed the ARENA live album than moved to London to work with Nile on “Wild Boys,” then working with Bernard on “A View to a Kill.” His massive contribution to the Power Station got his face on the album cover. His sound will live forever”

Many blogs and radio stations created playlists for the solar eclipse on August 21, with Duran Duran’s “New Moon on Monday” showing up on many of them!

On September 8 Duran Duran were the special guest performers at luxury yacht builder Ferretti Group’s private event at the Yacht Club in Monaco.

John appears in the Studio with friend Steve Jones for an episode of Jonesey’s Jukebox which airs on October 8.

The band put together an of End of Tour collage to thank fans for their support of the Paper Gods tour.

The Ferretti Group puts out an extended video of their Duran Duran event in Monaco, “Extraordinary World Highlight Reel.”

Simon leaves his annual birthday greeting for fans on…you guessed it, October 27.

Duran Duran announce a New Year’s weekend show at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on December 30.

Nick curates a Halloween playlist for the band’s website (with video) and the band’s Spotify channel (with audio).

On November 1, the band release a video for “Face for Today,” put together by Tatjana Rhodes using photos fans had sent in for a potential show experience in Japan. Rather than let the pictures go to waste, they created this.

On November 14, Duran Duran are guests of honor at the nomination ceremony for the upcoming BraVo Awards. Taking place in Moscow at the Evropejsky concert hall, the band performs three songs at the event.

On November 17, Nick participates in an intimate event celebrating David Bowie’s work and legacy as told through the stories of artists and fans. Song Stories: Bowie was part of a series of music events at Sonos’ new concept store in London.

On December 5, Duran Duran announce they will be headlining the Dubai Jazz Fest on February 21 at the Dubai Media City Amphitheater.

On December 6, a video John made in support of the anti-orphanage End The Silence charity campaign is posted to YouTube. The campaign comes from Hope and Homes for Children, who are trying to find aid for 120,000 children in Ugandan and Rwandan orphanages. You can watch John’s video here.
