Welcome to your July D Blast!
* John is taking a short break from his incredible bass tutorial series, STONE LOVE BASS ODYSSEY. He covered the songs "Planet Earth," "Girls on Film," "Rio," "The Reflex," "Some like it Hot" and "A View to a Kill." If you missed any, you can find them on the band's Instagram page (@duranduran) or on this YouTube Playlist.
John also had a group of very special guests that he did Q&As with after each Tutorial, including Dave from Chromeo, Susanna Hoffs, Mark Ronson, Nile Rodgers, Billy Idol and his own bandmate, Roger Taylor! You can watch all of these on the band's Instagram TV channel.
* You may have heard that since the universal lockdown started, Simon has been hosting a fantastic new podcast called WHOOOSH!, which airs every Friday on the band's website. He has been listening to loads of new music each week and curating an eclectic playlist. If you missed any of the episodes, listen to them here.
There is also a Spotify playlist with all the songs he plays on the Radio show.
* Roger has put out two very-cool Desert Island Discs episodes and people are enjoying his choices! If you missed either of them, you can watch his May episode here and his latest June one here
* June means three DD birthdays : JT put together a 60 For 60 Spotify playlist for his birthday, Nick left a very "Nick Rhodes" birthday message for fans to enjoy, and Dom stopped in to say hello on his birthday!
* Lastly, Nick got together with Warren to do a terrific POP TRASH retrospective in honour of the record's 20th anniversary. Featuring the two of them, along with Ken Scott (Engineer) and Andrew Day (Art Direction), it's a great read with a cool pictorial accompaniment.
If you are a member of the Fan Community, you know we had a fun Kafe with Nick where we only accepted Qs from Fan Community members and a NEW written Q&As too, (with a cool giveaway associated with it). The GOLD package is available now and when things open back up, members will get access to pre-sale tickets and VIP packages. Make sure your membership is up-to-date!
* We want to thank everyone for their continued love and support and are hopeful that the band will be back on the road this time next year!
