Was fortunate to see the guys this summer- and they were in top form! I have a question in regards to the new material:
With the band working with Ronson and returning to the energy of their first few records, has the band considered doing remixes the old fashioned way (i.e. re-recording extended versions) as they did earlier in their career? These earlier “night” versions and remixes were exemplary and seems like it might be fitting in regards to the album approach…
Love your book and keep up the great work,
The subject has actually been broached. We haven’t actually attempted to arrange and record extended versions of any of the songs yet, as they are still incomplete but since they have been written and structured in a similar manner to the material on the first two albums, it is not beyond the realm of possibility that such post modern retro experiment could work. There are certainly several songs which screaming out for the discothèque.
