Dear Katy, I was wondering why there was never a extended/'Night' version of 'Careless Memories' on the 12" single? Did a Night Version ever exist at that time and was never used or have they yet to do a remix. I'd love to hear an extended or remixed version (maybe the fabulous Shep Pettibone remixing it?) as the song lends itself so well to the dance floor. all the best IzzY
BACK THEN, THE BAND USED TO CREATE EXTENDED VERSIONS BY RE-ARRANGING THE SONG AND PLAYING IT AGAIN THEMSELVES. WHEN IT CAME TO CARELESS MEMORIES, IT SOMEHOW DIDNT SEEM TO LEND ITSELF TO THAT TYPE OF ARRANGEMENT BECAUSE IT WAS SO SUCH HIGH ENERGY VERGING ON PUNK, IT JUST DIDNT SEEM/SOUND RIGHT. IT WAS DECIDED TO LEAVE THAT SONG INTACT. NOW SOMEONE COULD CUT IT ALL TO PIECES AND GLUE IT BACK TOGETHER, MAKING IT THRICE THE SIZE IN A MATTER OF MERE MINUTES .
