Why Bonus in Japan?

Ask Katy

Why do the Japanese often get extra tracks? Does it have to do with Export/Import laws or something? Micky

Hi Micky. This is because Japan often gets flooded with cheaper imports from the US, UK and Europe. To combat this, the Japanese territories offer bonus tracks, translated lyrics and higher quality packaging in the hopes of enticing Japanese music consumers to pay more for the domestic configurations.
