Hi Katy, I was at Duran's show in Dublin Thursday night, which was amazing! I have a question about the Japanese manga-style cartoon of the band that was projected onto the video screens during 'Careless Memories'. I thought it was brilliant - giggled all the way through it (despite the rivers of blood!). Hope one day it will be available here on the site, so everyone can see it. Anyway, I was wondering who came up with the idea for the cartoon? And did the guys get to decide themselves what each of their 'super powers' would be? Thanks, Jennifer
WELL, THE IDEA WAS CONCEIVED BY GARY, THE BANDS LONGTIME VISUAL COLLABORATOR FOR THE LIVE SHOWS. HE FIRST SUGGESTED THE IDEA TO NICK SOME MONTHS BEFORE THE TOUR & NICK DIDNT HESITATE IN ACCEPTING. IT IS UNDOUBETLY A HIGHLIGHT IN THE SHOW, GARY PUT TOGETHER A TEAM OF JAPANESE ANIMATORS TO CREATE THIS PIECE. NICK DID PERSONALLY CONTRIBUTE IDEAS AND CONCEPTS FOR THE STORY BOARD, BUT WHATEVER THE TEAM FINALLY CREATED EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS.
AS FOR THE SUPERPOWERS, NICK DID HAVE SOME INPUT IN TO ROGER'S....!
