Hi, Following on from a one of your earlier questions where somebody inquired about Arena and Sing Blue Silver DVDs I just hope that "As the lights go down" will not get ignored as it is a far more dramatic film and has never had an official release. Indeed Arena makes me cringe - rather than
enhancing the live show the naff dwarfs and not-so-special effects all make it look very dated and detract from the powerful and vibrant live performances.Justin

"AS THE LIGHTS GO DOWN" IS "ARENA" JUST A VERY EDITED VERSION OF IT. ALL THE FOOTAGE FROM "ATLGD" WAS CULLED FROM "ARENA." THE BAND RELEASE "ATLGD" AROUND THE XMAS HOLIDAYS TO AIR ON UK TV AND IT WAS PICKED UP IN MANY MARKETS, INCLUDING MTV. IT WASNEVER MEANT TO BE ANYTHING MORE THAN A TELEVISED THANK YOU TO FANS FOR SUPPORTING DURAN DURAN (WHERE AS "ARENA" WAS INTENDED TO BE A FILM). SO IN RELEASING "ARENA" YOU ARE LITERALLY GETTING THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS - THE CONCERT AND THE DRAMA!
