80′s New Wave gods Duran Duran stay relevant with their latest single “Pressure Off,” featuring R&B sensation Janelle Monáe. But that doesn’t mean the Birmingham band is compromising on their retro roots, like some artists we know (Madonna).

Released on Saturday, the song is off Duran Duran’s forthcoming studio album Paper Gods, out 18 September. Although this is their 14th album, it’s the first in half a decade. “We’ve allowed ourselves the time to make music that we can be proud of,” said singer Simon Le Bon in statement.

Aside from Monáe’s guest vocals, “Pressure Off” features guitar stylings of longtime Duran Duran collaborator Nile Rodgers. The track might have hints of 80′s cheesiness, but it also reminds us that aside from being a pop act Duran Duran had some serious artistic inclinations.
