Princess Diana's favorite rock band and one of Europe's greatest rock bands is coming to Manila for a one-night only concert. Get ready on April 10 as Globe and MTV Philippines present Duran Duran's Red Carpet Massacre Live at the Araneta Coliseum. Catch them as they perform their classic hits and introduce their new sound.

When they first appeared in public during the early 1980s, Duran Duran transformed music videos from a gimmicky marketing tool into one of the music industry's most valued assets. With exotic locations, beautiful girls and stunning effects, Duran Duran took the visual imperatives of the New Romantic movement to another level. Their impact throughout the 1980's was such that Rolling Stone magazine, adapting the old Beatles' sobriquet, dubbed them "The Fab Five."

The stats on Duran Duran are remarkable: a total of over 70 million records sold, 18 American hit singles, 30 U.K. top 30 tunes, and a global presence which guarantees them huge concert audiences on five continents. More remarkable still is the way they have achieved this, fusing pop music, art and fashion with a unique style and confidence.

Duran Duran is an unstoppable force that still commands the respect of the finest players in the game. For their current studio album, Red Carpet Massacre (released on Epic Records November 2007), they have collaborated with top producers Timbaland and Nate "Danja" Hills, as well as long-time Duran fan Justin Timberlake.

The album Red Carpet Massacre marks an all time creative high in the band's illustrious career. As Nylon Magazine described it in its most recent issue, "It's like a stroke of lightning captured on record... it's a triumph, a marvel, and a hell of a lot of fun. Duran Duran have got their sexy back."

Last November 2007, Duran Duran made history as they launched their album with a two-week run in Broadway. Remarking on their upcoming New York shows, singer Simon LeBon said, "We have made an album that we are all really proud of and we wanted to present it in a very unique way. Staging a run on Broadway is something that we've often talked about over the years, but the time has never seemed right until now."

Don't miss the chance to see this iconic band as they make their way here in Manila. For ticket reservations to Duran Duran's Red Carpet Massacre Live at the Araneta Coliseum, call Ticketnet at 911-5555.
