NBC Universal networks to offer Live Earth concerts

NBC, MSNBC and CNBC will offer extensive coverage of "Live Earth: The Concerts for a Climate in Crisis" on July 7.

Scheduled acts include The Police, Bon Jovi, Madonna, Kelly Clarkson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kanye West, John Mayer, Faith Hill, Sheryl Crow, Enrique Iglesias, Duran Duran, Melissa Etheridge and Black Eyed Peas. The concerts will unfold in New York, London, Sydney, Tokyo, Shanghai, Johannesburg, Rio de Janeiro, Hamburg and Istanbul.

The networks of NBC Universal will be the exclusive broadcaster in the United States. Here are preliminary plans for July 7:

NBC will offer a three-hour prime-time special at 8 p.m. Ann Curry and Caron Daly are the hosts.

Bravo will offer 18 hours, starting at 8 a.m.

CNBC will deliver seven hours, starting at 7 p.m.

MSNBC will offer reports through the day.

Sundance Channel and Universal HD will provide 22 hours, starting at 4 a.m.

Telemundo will present a one-hour special at 7 p.m., and mun2 will offer a two-hour special that starts at 5 p.m.
