Charity gets License to Thrill

30 May 2007

AH, MR Bond, we will be expecting you on 07.07.07.

A James Bond bonanza charity event will be held at the Winter Gardens to raise funds for CLIC Sargent, Bristol Children's Hospital and breast and prostate cancer charities.

Guests at the event, organised by Sarah Cox, of Applepie Productions, will be met on a red carpet for a champagne reception by KGB agents, fire-eaters and paparazzi, to the sounds of a string quartet playing Bond themes.

Bond girls, Las Vegas show girls and golden boys will mingle with Bond character look-alikes around the 10 table casino room, which will also hold a giant six track Bond car Scalextric, while shadow dancers and spy-style DVDs are projected onto the walls.

Musical entertainment for the evening will be provided by From Russia with Loveshack, a Shirley Bassey tribute, the Firebirds and the Midnight Shadows.

An auction will also be held during the evening with items going under the hammer including a 20 DVD attache case with sleeves signed by actors of the Bond films and a Duran Duran signed photograph.

Tickets for the event on July 7, priced £25, are available from reception at The Royal Hotel in South Parade, Weston, or Sarah Cox on 07967 709018.
