THERE WAS ONLY ONE GUY RESPONSIBLE FOR SIGNING DURAN DURAN TO EMI. HIS NAME IS DAVE AMBROSE. HE ALSO FOUND THE SEX PISTOLS AND KATE BUSH, AMONGST OTHE RS ....DAVE MADE THE EFFORT
TO COME TO THEIR EARLY SHOWS IN BIRMINGHAM AND FOUGHT HARD AGAINST SOME SERIOUS COMPETITION FROM OTHER MAJOR LABELS DURING THE HAZEL O'CONNOR TOUR. HIS BELIEF IN THE BAND UNDOUBTEDLY HELPED THE BAND THROUGH THE FI RS T FEW YEARS AND THE BAND WILL FOREVER FEEL INDEBTED TO HIS COMMITMENT.

2. Having had success in that very big way and having tasted fame at it's very highest in the '80's, what in the process would you repeat today and what would you do differently, both in terms of the way you interact within the band, tour, do promotion, handle the press etc.??? THE ANSWER TO THE SECOND PART OF YOUR QUESTION IS PROBABLY AN ENTIRE BOOK. THE BAND WOULD LIKE TO BELIEVE THAT DURING THE PAST TWO DECADES, THEY HAVE ALL LEARNED A LITTLE ABOUT OUR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES. IF THE BAND HAS THE KNOWLEDGE THEN WHICH THEY HAVE NOW, THEY SUPPOSE THEY MAY HAVE LASTED A LITTLE LONGER....LET'S JUST SEE WHERE THEY GO NOW AND WHETHER HISTORY DARES TO REPEAT INSELF.
