white lines

Ask Katy

First off, I just want to encourage you guys to take all the time you need to get the best record deal you can. I'm sure you're more excited than anyone to have the rest of the world experience the new album, but make sure the details are right and keep the faith. I also have a quick question for Nick: At the intro to White Lines during live shows, you play a clip that goes someting like "we've got to expand distribution....New York....Chicago...LA" and then at the end there's another bit that asks "what kind of life is that?". Was just wondering where the clips are from and what the genesis was to add them to the live presentation of the song. Cheers, and can't wait to see you live in '03!

I ASKED NICK AND HE SAID THAT ON THE RARE OCCASION THAT HE USED SAMPLES LIVE FOR "WHITE LINES" THEY WERE TAKEN FROM THE MOVIE "SCARFACE." THE CHOICE, OF COURSE, SORT OF SPEAKS FOR ITSELF. MUCH LIKE THE SONG, THE MOVIE DETAILS THE HORRORS OF COCAINE.
