John says: "I've always liked reading. I've always liked kind of adventure, escapist stuff when I was growing up. I still like that, but I also like stuff that's a bit more thoughtful, and I like history... At the moment I'm reading Ian McEwan's new novel ['Atonement']. I've got one of the 'Flashman' books by George MacDonald Fraser for the next long flight, and that's kind of adventure, tongue in cheek, historic - so it's all the kinds of things I like really. "
