We asked you, the TOTP-loving public, for your favourite performance on the show ever. You voted for a frankly bizarre array of pop talent. Everyone from Blue to Captain Beefheart and back again. DURANIES ARE TOP OF TOPS DURAN Duran's cult classic Rio has been voted the best Top of the Pops performance of all time. The kings of new romance beat Madonna's legendary Like A Virgin into second place. And Queen's Killer Queen was third.

Thousands of viewers voted for their favourite performances as part of celebrations to mark the 250th edition of TOTP2.

Producer Mark Hagen, said: "The breadth of taste is remarkable. The superstars of the 80s have triumphed over acts like The Beatles and the Stones."
