John, who do you admire as a fellow bassist? I love your playing. I missed it on the last couple cd's.Glad you guys are 5 again! Sincerely, Derek Willow
"Bernard Edwards is my #1. It was the Chic grooves 'Good Times' and 'Everybody Dance' that got me playing. Bernard lead me to James Jamerson the Motown man. My favourite lines of his include 'Bernadette', 'Baby I need your loving' and 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough'. Now I can appreciate Paul McCartney's Beatle lines, especially 'Dear Prudence' and 'Come Together'.John Entwhistle, John Paul Jones, Bill Wyman, the big rock guys. Robbie Shakespeare and Leroy Sibbles out of Kingston. Roxy Music never had a permanent bassist, but they always had incredible players. I first saw them with John Wetton. Also John Gustafson, Gary Tibbs..and The Clash's Paul Simonon had the best style."
