Hello Katy. Does the band remember or know of any other covers that they worked on that didn't make it onto the Thank You album? I hear ones such as Lithium by Nirvana come up, but it can't be confirmed. Can the band help me out? Thanks! Trevor from Wisconsin.
"LITHIUM" WAS NEVER ON THE LIST OF SONGS CONSIDERED FOR "THANK YOU." ACCORDING TO THE BAND, WHILE THEY LOVED THE SONG, THEY THOUGHT IT WOULD BE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO COVER AS THE ORIGINAL ONE IS SO STUNNING AND NOT ENOUGH TIME HAD ELAPSED BY THEN TO CONSIDER A NEW RE-WORKING. HOWEVER, THE BAND DID PLAY THE SONG LIVE THE DAY KURT COBAIN'S DEATH WAS ANNOUNCED AS A TRIBUTE TO HIM.
"HEART OF GOLD" BY NEIL YOUNG WAS RECORDED BUT NOT RELEASED; "DIAMOND DOGS", "NEEDLE AND THE DAMAGE DONE" WERE RELEASED SOMEWHERE; DAVID BOWIE'S "WE ARE THE DEAD" AND JOHN LENNON'S "HOW" NEVER MADE IT PAST INITIAL RECORDINGS.
I KNOW NICK'S "WISH LIST" INCLUDED SEVERAL EARLY PUNK SONGS AND SOME ROXY MUSIC TOO.
