ACCORDING TO NICK, THE NAME WAS ACTUALLY TAKEN FROM AN INSCRIPTION ON A TOMBSTONE, WHICH READ: "ET IN ARCADIA EGO." HOWEVER THE TOMBSTONE IN FRANCE IS FEATURED IN A PAINTING BY POUSSIN.
