One of Britain’s most influential and innovative bands, Duran Duran, is to appear for the first time on a new set of Royal Mail Special Stamps.
Recognising a group whose music, style and creative vision have left a lasting mark on popular culture, the main set of stamps showcases eight iconic album covers selected from across Duran Duran's remarkable career. Together, they highlight the band's bold visual identity, graphic flair and continual artistic evolution, qualities that have helped establish them as one of the most distinctive and enduring forces in music. The issue coincides with the 45th anniversary of the band's debut album, Duran Duran, and its breakthrough single, ‘Planet Earth’.
Royal Mail worked closely with Duran Duran on all aspects of the stamp issue, from the selection of album artwork and imagery to the overall design of the collection, helping to ensure it captures the creativity, style and innovation that have defined their rich and storied career.

A further four stamps, presented in a miniature sheet, celebrate Duran Duran's live performances. The stamp designs are inspired by tour posters from across the band’s career, with each one functioning as both a self-contained ‘poster’ and part of a wider visual timeline. Fragments of concert imagery and bold graphic elements surround the stamps, creating a tribute to the band's enduring presence on stages around the world.
Featured on the stamps in the miniature sheet are the:
- Careless Memories Tour
- Astronaut Tour

- Invisible Tour
In a Royal Mail first, the miniature sheet also features a printed visual on the reverse, adding an additional creative dimension to the collectable issue.
David Gold, Director of External Affairs and Policy, Royal Mail, said: "From iconic album artwork to unforgettable live performances, these stamps capture elements of the band's remarkable creative journey while recognising their lasting impact on music and popular culture. We are delighted to honour Duran Duran as one of Britain's most successful bands and are thrilled to celebrate their contribution with this collection of stamps."
Duran Duran:
Duran Duran remain one of Britain's most successful bands, with record sales far in excess of 100 million worldwide. Their catalogue includes dozens of hit singles and UK top five albums across each of the last five decades, featuring songs such as ‘Girls on Film’, ‘Hungry Like the Wolf’, ‘Rio’, ‘The Reflex’, ‘Free to Love’, ‘A View to a Kill’, ‘Notorious’, ‘The Wild Boys’, ‘Come Undone’, ‘Ordinary World’ and ‘Invisible’.
Formed in Birmingham in 1978, Duran Duran quickly became recognised as the defining sound and look of Britain's New Romantic movement. Their trailblazing music, visual creativity and influence across fashion, art and popular culture have made them one of the UK's most celebrated musical exports. Their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022 further underlined their impact on audiences around the globe.
Few bands have shaped the sound, style and direction of modern music quite like Duran Duran. The band has built a global reputation for combining innovative pop music with striking visuals, pioneering music videos and a constant drive to explore new creative territory.
Duran Duran becomes the ninth music band to feature in a dedicated Royal Mail stamp issue – following on from: The Beatles, 2007; Pink Floyd, 2016; Queen, 2020; The Rolling Stones, 2022; Iron Maiden, 2023; Spice Girls, 2024; The Who, 2024; and AC/DC, 2025.
