Dear all,
Here’s a little hello to you all on my birthday… thanks for all the messages and wishes. I’m a year and a day older than I was on my last birthday… yes, it’s an a leap year in case you hadn’t realised, haha !!
This year marks 20 years since I first met and performed with Duran Duran… it’s definitely a huge milestone for me!
I have performed more shows with Duran than any other band in my career… the chemistry and energy is very apparent when you see us onstage together. I’ve performed on 5 World Tours with Duran, taking me to all corners of the world and to places I maybe wouldn’t have had the chance to go to otherwise, including: Japan, Australia, Hawaii, The Bahamas, Dominican Republic, US, S America, Europe, Cayman Islands, Singapore, Canada, Korea, Philippines, Hong Kong and many other places… it’s been a fun ride and I have some fantastic memories from these tours.
I’ve collaborated on 4 albums with Duran over this period and I’ve performed at some amazing venues like Red Rocks, Hyde Park, The Kremlin, The Louvre, Hollywood Bowl, Wembley Stadium, O2 London, Madison Square Garden, The Fillmore, Chicago Theatre, Buckingham Palace and many other wonderful and unusual venues. We have made live concert videos and performed on many UK, US and European TV shows including: Jools Holland, TFI Friday, Ellen Show, Good Morning America, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Jonathan Ross, Graham Norton Shows and many more.
On my last birthday I was in the middle of a US tour with the band. This year I’m at home but gearing up for a couple of weeks performing in Europe with them in July.
As well as touring with Duran Duran this year, I have been busy writing and recording at my studio (Rockwood Studios) where I’ve been working on some interesting projects… hoping to share some of the fruits in the next year. It’s also been a great year for my band, Uncovered The Electric Rock Experience. We continue to build our fan base and continue to do public and private performances. Thanks to those of you who have supported us these last few years… much appreciated.
Wishing you all the best and sending love and peace!
Dom xx
