CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Don’t mess with Duran Duran fans. It’s a lesson I learned the hard way in writing about this Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees in recent weeks.
More than Rush, Kiss or any other band that waited longer than it should have to get into the Rock Hall, Duran Duran’s fans are extreme. But apparently, there was a method to the madness, as Duran Duran will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame during a ceremony on Nov. 5 in Los Angeles.
On the latest episode of the CLE Rocks podcast, I spoke with Kirk Harrington and Tracey Elena who run Duran Duran Worldwide, a movement that helped lead the fan push for the band to get into the Rock Hall.

Harrington began his push to get Duran Duran in the Rock Hall back in 2009 and has been leading the charge ever since. One of the things I learned in chatting with him is that Duran Duran fans may agree to disagree with you. But that won’t stop them from letting you know how amazing their favorite band is.
CLE Rocks looks back on Ohio’s rich music history, current music trends and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The podcast is brought to you by this year’s WonderStruck festival taking place July 9-10 at Lakeland Community College.
