Duran Duran continue their 40th anniversary celebrations into 2022 with the announcement of a new series of summer headline shows across the UK and Europe.

The upcoming run will begin with a very special three-night experience in Ibiza, ‘Duran Duran: Touch The Sunrise’, taking place over the May Bank Holiday Weekend, from 29th April - 2nd May, during the Ibiza Music Summit.

Alongside ‘Touch the Sunrise’, the band have announced two further outdoor shows for 2022, at Castle Howard in Yorkshire, and Inverness’ Caledonian Stadium.

‘Touch the Sunrise’ will see fans have the chance to join the band for three days of sun, sea and incredible sounds during an exclusive, event-filled weekend that will include DJ sets, outdoor film screenings and a closing Duran Duran headline show to remember. ‘Touch The Sunrise’ will mark the first time the band have performed in Ibiza since 1987.

The British music icons will be joined over the weekend by two of the UK dance music’s most influential and respected DJs, Pete Tong and producer Erol Alkan – both close friends and the latter of whom worked with the band on their brand-new studio album ‘FUTURE PAST’. Erol will close out the night at Pacha, following Roger Taylor’s two hours on the decks, while Pete will perform for two hours before the band at the Ushuaïa Beach Hotel on the closing night.

Speaking about the event, singer Simon Le Bon said:

“Touch The Sunrise is going to be an extraordinary experience – and something we’ve never done before! Everyone in the band has a tremendous love for the island and over the years I have personally spent many summers there with friends and family – so it’s become somewhat of a home away from home for us. People often think of Ibiza as just a party island – which of course it can be – but there’s a side to it that we really hope our fans get to explore while they are there, that’s about the natural beauty of the place, the incredible food and the warmth of the people who live there year-round. Ushuaïa , where we’re playing on the Sunday night, is one of the best open air venues in the world with a massive stage, right on the water. Our set is going to be dancefloor-heavy – and after what we’ve all been through these past two years, we just can’t wait!”

Erol Alkan said:

"It’s not often you are offered to spend three days in Ibiza with Duran Duran. It ranks up there amongst one of the best emails I’ve received in 2021 and it didn’t take long for me to agree! I’m sure these lads know how to throw a party!"

Fans can look forward to a three-day programme specially curated by Duran Duran.

Day 1: ‘Taste the Summer: Night Versions’ will see fans taking over the legendary Ibiza institution, Pacha, for a thrilling DJ set from Roger Taylor, followed by Erol Alkan, on into the night.
Day 2: ‘Come Undone’ will see fans enjoying a series of activities including an outdoor screening of an as-yet-unseen documentary, building up to…
Day 3: topping the weekend off in true Duran Duran style with a headline show to remember at Ushuaïa.

Taking place from 29th April - 2nd May, Duran Duran: ‘Touch The Sunrise’ is on sale now. A variety of packages and VIP options to suit all fans are available HERE.

‘Touch The Sunrise’ is just one of the highlights set to take place over the coming months celebrating Duran Duran’s rich and colourful career. With 40 years at the forefront of British music they continue to play for massive crowds around the world, and most recently headlined the Isle of Wight Festival to thousands of adoring fans, with their “star magnetism” dubbed highlight of the weekend by The Telegraph.

17th June will see Duran Duran headline an outdoor show at the stunning Castle Howard in Yorkshire, the first in a brand-new concert series taking place at the estate.

The breath-taking Grade I listed residence was built upon the site of a former castle, home to the Carlisle branch of the Howard family for more than 300 years. It has appeared on-screen in the 1981 and 2008 adaptations of Brideshead Revisited, and more recently in the Netflix series Bridgerton.

On having Duran Duran perform at Castle Howard, Co-Chairman The Hon. Nick Howard said: 'It’s a delight to welcome Duran Duran to Castle Howard. The breath-taking south front of the house will form a perfect backdrop for them to perform their timeless songs and transport us into the world of Duran Duran.'

Tickets are on sale from Friday 10th December at 10am HERE.

The band will also make their debut headline performance in the Scottish Highlands on 2nd July at The Caledonian Stadium, Inverness with special guest Jack Savoretti. Speaking from his home in London, following their magnificent performance on BBC Radio 2’s In Concert on Thursday night, bassist John Taylor said “It’s hard to believe that in 40 years together we have never played in this part of Scotland - but after four decades of shows it’s pretty exciting to be coming to a new city. We’ve been working on the album since late 2018 and have spent the last few days in rehearsals shaping the new material for next year’s dates. It’s always satisfying after months and months in the studio to be able to bring them to life in a different way – so roll on 2022!”

Tickets are on sale online from 10am Friday 10th December HERE.

The band will perform their much-anticipated first London headline show in six years at Hyde Park’s British Summer Time on 10th July 2022. This will follow a host of other dates across the summer including St Anne’s Park, Dublin, Rock in Rio Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal, and a headline set at the Lytham Festival.

Marking the band’s highest charting album in sixteen years, ‘FUTURE PAST’ was met with widespread critical acclaim. It has been described as an album “that looks firmly to the future” by Rolling Stone UK, “classic Duran” by The Times, “a blast” by CLASH, “Duran Duran at their best” in The Sun and, “all a fan could want” by the Evening Standard.

A genre-spanning piece of work that once again sees Duran Duran continuing to charge forward sonically and stylistically, the album features production by Erol Alkan, Giorgio Moroder and Duran Duran, and guest appearances from Blur’s Graham Coxon, Mike Garson, CHAI, Mark Ronson, Ivorian Doll and Tove Lo. Their new single ‘GIVE IT ALL UP’ (ft Tove Lo) is currently on the A-List at BBC Radio 2 - tapping into Tove’s left-leaning pop influence, with synth melodies showcasing Nick Rhodes at his very best, production by Erol Alkan and Graham Coxon on guitar.
