The immortal dream of the 80s is very, very much alive on Duran Duran's new single "Pressure Off," their first in four years. Taken from their forthcoming album Paper Gods, the track features mood-specific contributions from the always intriguing Janelle Monáe and longtime Duran Duran collaborator Nile Rodgers (Sister Sledge, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Daft Punk, and many others).

Paper Gods is shaping up to be a cross-genre smorgasbord of talented multihyphenates — with reported appearances by Lindsay Lohan, John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Mark Ronson, Mr. Hudson, and more. In a recent press release, Duran Duran bassist John Taylor elaborated on the band's collective mindset during the creation of Paper Gods: "It really goes back to that strange early Duran mix: the hard-edged pop, coexisting with this dark, weird, experimental side."

Taylor's bold declaration is nicely proven accurate with "Pressure Off," a concise slice of pop craftsmanship rooted in Duran history. Paper Gods is out in September.
