Steve Aoki premiered Wednesday a new version of Duran Duran's "Hungry Like The Wolf," titled "Hungry Like The Wolf: Steve Aoki vs Duran Duran — The New York Werewolf Mix." Duran Duran joined Aoki on stage as surprise guests at Trident gum's "See What Unfolds — Live" event at Terminal 5 in New York.

The alternate mix, timed with the 30th anniversary of the song, is a fun, summertime electronic party record.

The members of Duran Duran said they were glad to team up with Aoki. "It's always really exciting to collaborate with someone whose work you admire, especially when what you are creating together is something that ultimately you're going to perform live," they said in a statement.

Steve Aoki "Unlike so many remixes, where a DJ takes just a few elements from the original to create a new track, the challenge for Steve and all of us was to come up with something that every member of the band was well represented on, and that could be performed live on stage for the fans."

Aoki said he was honored to work with the legendary English pop stars. "I am always looking for new projects and opportunities that allow me to push my limits and surprise my fans — the chance to remix 'Hungry Like The Wolf' has been a lot of fun and Duran Duran and Trident have been great partners," he said. "It's a lot of pressure because I grew up listening to their music and watching their videos. As you'll see when you hear the track, I am not only remixing one of their iconic songs, but I am rewriting it along with them so it's actually like a whole new song. All very exciting stuff."

A spokesperson for Trident said the artists made the perfect teaming. "We really feel that Steve Aoki and Duran Duran are the bridge that connects our target audience," the spokesperson said. "We know that EDM resonates with our core consumer — the millennial — and Duran Duran bridges the gap to a slightly older audience who remains a fan of the brand."

In 1984, the "Hungry Like The Wolf" video won the Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video.

Trident is also hosting a Create The Music Video contest for the song offering $20,000 in prizes.
