Frontman Simon Le Bon had already declared that performing at the event was one of his "highlights" of the past decade. And the 53-year-old tonight told the crowd: "Olympic London, Hyde Park... The plan is we get everyone in the park singing a tune, a Duran Duran tune."

Crowds screamed and cheered as the Red Arrows flew ahead, decorating the sky with red, white and blue vapour.
