Duran Duran's bass guitarist, John Taylor, was back home in the Midlands today.

He was opening the new £200,000 music suite at Trinity High School in Redditch.

John is a former pupil at the school's predecessor, Abbey High School. It used to stand on the site of Trinity High School before it closed in 2001.

John told ITV Central that since his father's death, nearly 3 years ago, he has only visited Birmingham once. This inspired him to write his autobiography, in which, Birmingham features a lot.
