Star names from the worlds of music and cinema will join hundreds of graduates from the University of Bedfordshire at ceremonies in Luton next week (16 to 18 Nov).
Duran Duran keyboard player Nick Rhodes, music producer Peter Asher and film producer Katy Haber are among those being honoured during graduation week at St Mary’s Church. Each will receive an Honorary Doctor of Arts.
Nick Rhodes is being recognised for his contribution to the music industry as a songwriter, performer and producer.
Katy Haber, who starred in films such as The Getaway and Cross of Iron and co-produced sci-fi classic Blade Runner, will be recognised for her outstanding career in the film industry.
Producer Peter Asher is being recognised for his distinguished career in the music industry, working with the likes of global stars Cher and Neil Diamond.
Also being honoured are Dr Yasmin Jetha, Professor Dame Carol Black and Colonel Colin Mason CBE.
They will join graduates from the Faculty of Creative Arts, Technologies and Science, The Business School and the Health and Social Sciences Faculty at the ceremonies.
The University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Les Ebdon CBE DL, said: “Our students have worked extremely hard to achieve their goals and I congratulate each and every one of them for remaining focused and dedicated throughout.“
