While hanging out at Filter Magazine's Culture Collide, Spinner spotted the man of the hour, headliner Raphael Saadiq. The crooner was first spotted in the alley way with his back to the wall, soaking up what modicum of solitude could be had amid the mayhem of South by Southwest's day party free-for-all in Austin, Texas.
The 'Stone Rollin'' creator kept to himself and steered clear of the madness inside Cedar Street Courtyard until the last possible moment. Ten minutes prior to his soulful, albeit short set, he obliged with his South by Southwest sentiments.
"South by Southwest so far has been surreal," Saadiq told Spinner. "I have to say it's surreal because I got to open for Duran Duran last night at Stubb's... I got to hear them play all the songs that I loved--the songs that inspired me while I was growing up."
