The 80s band returned home to Birmingham for a stellar performance following Simon Le Bon's throat issues.

Simon Le Bon’s throat problems may have delayed Duran Duran’s UK tour, but as they took to the stage in Birmingham last night, it became instantly apparent that all those troubles are well and truly behind them.

The prodigal sons’ return party has been a long time coming, and just before the show, fans twitter messages were broadcast to a giant screen at the back of the stage, with many posting how long they had waited for the show to come along.

Once on stage, the band proved why after 30 years in the business, they still have what it takes to command a crowd, with Le Bon connecting instantly with his 12,000 strong audience.

Performing hits like A View To A Kill and Hungry Like The Wolf, along with new songs from their All You Need Is Now album, the band blazed through their homecoming gig in the way a homecoming concert should be done.
