British rock icons Duran Duran are making a long-awaited return to the stage this week after a seven-year break to kick off their new All You Need is Now world tour with a series of dates in the UK – featuring a show at Glasgow SECC on Thursday.

Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor are coming together once again to perform to over 150,000 fans in 11 arena concerts throughout the UK.

Speaking to STV, Simon said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be performing again in Scotland.

“The last time we performed in Glasgow was on our arena tour some seven years ago, and a couple of years back we played at Edinburgh Castle, both of which were truly memorable highlights for us.”

He added: “We’re expecting a very lively crowd in Glasgow. Scottish fans are amazing, very loyal, very loud and up for a great party.

“I am really excited that we will get the opportunity to perform tracks from our new album for fans along with a few classics as well in a fantastic city with great people. It’s always very special when we come back to the UK to perform for our Scottish fans."

Duran Duran have enjoyed a career spanning 30 years, selling more than 80 million records, with 30 chart toppers in the UK, and 18 American hit singles.

The group's new show, which follows their 2004 Astronaut Arena tour, will see them perform a whole mix of their classic hits from over the years, as well as songs from their new album All You Need Is Now, which was produced by Grammy Award-winner Mark Ronson.
