2009 September the 4th.
The reader is a little different today.
Below I have made a list of all the books which I can remember off the top of my head (a feat in itself), having read since going to Lima to commence our South American tour. That would be at the beginning of November last year.
I invite you to choose the book on this list that you'd most like me to write a review of; just one please as that'll make it a simpler task by far for Katy to sift through. Entries, requests - whatever you like to call them will be logged for the month of October only beginning on the 1st. Anything coming in before then will be disregarded ... Ha!
And if you'd like to open discussions on any of the books listed you own reviews/ideas would be most welcome.
There are some really juicy options here; I think it's best if I leave it up to you to discover them.
I would like to thank all of you who have made reading recommendations to me. Special thanks I feel is due to the five people, including the venerable John Taylor, who have suggested that I read Cormac McCarthy's "The Road". I might add that this is a suggestion which I am stubbornly resisting in some misplaced sense of independence.
And lastly, to the six persons who have mailed to me copies of Carlos Ruiz Zafon's "The Shadow of the Wind" ... Yes, I have read it, and it's definitely going to get a review, and various members of my immediate and not so immediate family are very grateful for the read.
