Building on the momentum of an unprecedented 10-show run on Broadway in November 2007 that showcased the release of “Red Carpet Massacre”, 80's icons Duran Duran are mounting a North American tour. The 22-date trek will begin in Vancouver, Canada on April 29 and end in New York with two shows at Central Park’s SummerStage on May 30-31.
"These are going to be extremely exciting shows for us – taking a very different format to the last world tour we did in 2006," band frontman Simon LeBon said in a statement.
"We are introducing a lot of new elements to the show both musically and in terms of the staging. We have been working on completely different arrangements for some of the older material and will be integrating a lot of our latest record into the performances. We need to keep things fresh – not only for ourselves, but also for our audiences, who can be assured of a lot of surprises with this new production,” he added.
Tickets go on sale to the public March 15, and like their Broadway run, Citi will be offering card members a pre-sale opportunity for all of the U.S. dates, starting today, March 12.
Members of Duran Duran’s fan community will also have access to pre-sale tickets and VIP packages today through the band’s website for select shows.
