Kicking off their Red Carpet Massacre Latin American tour, the world-renowned English pop rock band Duran Duran will play at the Estadio Monumental in Lima tonight.
The presence of the English quartet has been described as a miracle by fans in the Andean country, who have stood countless hours in long lines for the past several months in the hopes of getting tickets for the show.
Duran Duran's lead singer and lyricist Simon Le Bon has assured that the band's concert in Lima will be the greatest show of the year.
Starting off the tour in Peru was not a difficult choice for the band, considering drummer Roger Taylor is married to a Peruvian woman and the entire band knows a little about Peru.
Accompanied by his wife in a television interview, Taylor, who assured people in Peru were warm, friendly and had welcomed him well, stated he loved the Andean country's food and culture.
He affirmed that not many people around the world knew how delicious the food was and noted he would be celebrating in Peru with "plenty of Pisco Sour"
