With four co-headlining V Festival dates already scheduled for Duran Duran’s triumphant return to Australia, the four original band members (Simon LeBon (vocals), John Taylor (bass), Roger Taylor (drums) and Nick Rhodes (keyboards) today announced two special headlining shows in Auckland and Adelaide, to officially kick off their Red Carpet Massacre World Tour.

With tickets going on sale Monday February 11, these two highly anticipated dates mark the band’s first solo shows in both Adelaide and Auckland since they regrouped in 2001.

Fusing pop music, art and fashion with their own inimitable style, DURAN DURAN have remained an unstoppable global force, consistently commanding the respect of others at the top of their game, as their latest album, “Red Carpet Massacre”, attests.

Featuring collaborations with top producers Timbaland and Nate “Danja” Hills, as well as the current king of pop, Justin Timberlake, “Red Carpet Massacre” proves DURAN DURAN are a force to be reckoned with and marks an all-time creative high in the band’s illustrious career. Described as “a stroke of lighting captured on record… a triumph, a marvel, and a hell of a lot of fun” by US hipster publication Nylon Magazine, their latest work has delivered them rave reviews, with media outlets around the world declaring that they have truly ‘got their sexy back’.

For their return Down Under (their first since 2003’s highly successful run) the band have developed a brand new show that will see them performing not only many of their infectious global hits from the past 29 years, such as Rio’, ‘Girls on Film’, ‘The Reflex’, ‘Planet Earth’, ‘Ordinary World’ and ‘Save A Prayer’, but also songs from their new album, together with a special electro set that showcases different arrangements of some of the classics.

With a two-hour plus show and a magnificent new production, DURAN DURAN are recognized as one of the best live bands in the world today. And as those who have seen them before already know, there can be no doubt that they have nothing left to prove and everything to play for.
