DURAN DURAN CONFIRMS DATE FOR CORK, LIVE AT THE MARQUEE
Following their hugely successful 2004/2006 Astronaut World Tour, that included two sold out shows in Dublin and Belfast, Aiken Promotions are delighted to announce that DURAN DURAN has confirmed a date for the Live At The Marquee concert series in Cork on Friday 29 June.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday 3 May at 9.00am. The Duran Duran fan community pre-sale (www.duranduranmusic.com) will start two days prior, on Tuesday 1 May at 3.00 pm.
DURAN DURANS Simon LeBon (vocals), Nick Rhodes (keyboards), John Taylor (bass) and Roger Taylor (drums) are already scheduled to make a couple of high profile live appearances this summer. They will perform at the CONCERT FOR DIANA on July 1st, at the new Wembley Stadium in London along with ELTON JOHN, JOSS STONE, KANYE WEST, BRYAN FERRY and PHARRELL WILLIAMS. A week later, on July 7th, the band will perform at Al Gores LIVE EARTH event (also at Wembley Stadium), along with MADONNA, THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS and the FOO FIGHTERS. The latter event is being staged across seven continents with over 100 artists participating.
The four band members are currently in the studio in London putting the finishing touches to their next album which features collaborations with top producer Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and Nate "Danja" Hills (Timbaland's long-time collaborator who co-produced Nelly Furtado's Promiscuous and Justin Timberlake's Sexy Back). The first single is expected later this summer, with the album to follow on Sony/BMG in the fall.
