SIMON LE BON GETS THE FERRY CORSTEN REMIX TREATMENT

Ferry Corsten "FIRE" is released on CD, 12" & DD - 23rd January

Ferry Corsten has had a great 2005. The Dutch dance star has sold-out tours across the globe, introduced his L.E.F (Loud Electronic Ferocious) Parties to the world's hottest clubs, mixed this summer's 'Creamfields' album, and held his position at No.5 in DJ magazine's Top 100 DJs Poll 2005. But the producer turned DJ with a million compilation album sales to his name, hasn't kept the studio locked up for too long.

Aside from putting together tracks and ideas while travelling the planet, Ferry's returned to his studio in Rotterdam, The Netherlands to create his next single and artist album. Taking his own L.E.F concept a stage further, he's focused on honing the sound he began in 2001 with 'Punk', the follow-up hit, 'Rock Your Body Rock' (No.11 UK singles chart), and his debut artist album, 'Right Of Way'. Electro-trance, dirty house, or whatever label you want to stick on it; Ferry's music belies his role as a constant innovator. And it's about to get even bigger.

'Fire' is his first new production in 18 months, and it's been well worth the wait. Known as the pioneer of trance music, Ferry's looked back for inspiration and turned it on its head, given it a hefty dose of electronic fizzle, and sent it out onto the dancefloor. He's taken Simon Le Bon's vocal, and the melody/riff from Duran Duran's 'Serious', first released in 1990 and worked it into a whirring, anthemic slice of synth-infused electro-house.

The recent chorus that met a handful of 'Fire' promos got tongues wagging, and DJs hunting for copies, some even charting it without actually having had one - that goes some way in telling you how big this record is going to be. Already a favourite on Radio 1's dance shows, it's being hammered across the UK, Europe, America, and beyond - this is truly global dance music.
