Special Guest, Duran Duran founding member John Taylor
More than almost any other band, Duran Duran is the musical icon of the 80s. With sales of more than 70 million records, and multiple Grammy Awards for its memorable music videos, Duran Duran is still unforgettable to a generation of music fans raised on New Wave, power pop, and MTV. John Taylor co-founded Duran Duran in 1978 with Nick Rhodes, and enjoyed chart-topping success with hits like “Hungry Like the Wolf”, “Rio”, and “Is There Something I should Know?”. Band members, including John, Andy Taylor (no relation), and Simon Le Bon, also developed rabid fan followings as individuals, and many fans still begin nostalgic reminiscences with “John (or Nick, or Simon) was my favorite!” We talked to John Taylor about Duran Duran’s recent concert in Poland, their plans for a concert in the virtual world, Second Life, work on their forthcoming album, and what it’s like to be co-headlining the Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans, one year after Hurricane Katrina devastated the city.

Get Duran Duran’s latest album, Astronaut, on iTunes, and you find info about the Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans, October 28 and 29.
