Currently heading into the home stretch of an eighteen month long world tour in support of their chart-topping album Astronaut (Epic Records), the five original members of Duran Duran (Simon LeBon, Andy Taylor, John Taylor, Roger Taylor and Nick Rhodes) are now on their way back to the United States and then Japan, where they will complete another five week run of dates, before returning to the studio to start work on their next record. Duran Durans upcoming North American tour marks the bands third outing to the US in the past two years and follows a series of 28 European shows that included a four-song performance at the historic Live 8 concert at the Circus Maximus in Rome.
Duran Duran - Roskilde Festival
Playing some of their biggest hits: Save A Prayer, Ordinary World, Wild Boys and (Reach Up For The) Sunrise, to more than 200,000 people, the band were one of only two British acts to have also played at the original Live Aid some twenty years earlier. Following their performance the five band members flew from Rome to Denmark, where they finished up their European dates with a spectacular appearance at the Roskilde Festival in front of 75,000 fans.
