Le Bon to Race in the Drum Again

Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon is to compete again in the yacht race in which he almost died taking part in 20 years ago, it emerged today.
The singer will even sail the same yacht, Drum, which capsized during the Rolex Fastnet Race in 1985.
Formerly owned by Le Bon, it is now the property of Scottish car magnate Arnold Clark, who has loaned it to the star to compete in the race.
The biennial event covers a 608-mile course and can involve tricky tidal currents and changeable weather conditions.
Le Bon and his team narrowly escaped death when Drum capsized in bad weather off the coast of Falmouth at the height of the bands popularity in the 1980s.
He will be reunited with the vessel, now called Arnold Clark Drum, and its original crew members for this years attempt, 20 years after the incident.
The race begins on August 7 off the Isle of Wight and is expected to attract around 250 yachts.
The singer is set to announce his plans at a launch in Glasgow on Monday May 16.
