Bidding For 'Fashion Rocks' Guitar
NEW YORK, Sept. 12, 2005

You have a chance to buy a special, star-studded guitar and help victims of Hurricane Katrina at the same time.

Stars of film, TV and music have been coming together to raise millions of dollars for Katrina's displaced.

Late last week and throughout the weekend, telethons were aired on major broadcast and cable networks. Among them, Friday night's hour-long Shelter From the Storm.

That was followed on CBS by the two-hour gala, Fashion Rocks, the entertainment special that kicks off Fashion Week in New York City. "Fashion Rocks" was dedicated to Katrina victims and spawned a one-of-a-kind collector's item.

At the "Fashion Rocks" taping at Radio City Music Hall, 21 celebrities autographed a unique guitar, a Gibson ES 335 in Ebony. Andy Taylor of Duran Duran played one in Antique Natural on the show.

The stars and groups affixing their signatures to the ES 335 in Ebony were Billy Idol, Duran Duran, Tim McGraw, Alicia Keys, Pharell Williams, Rebecca Romijn, Wilmer Valderama, Shakira, Gwen Stefani, Camryn Manheim, Mark McGrath, Jesse Metcalf, Macy Gray, Kim Catrall, Ashanti, Petra Nemcova, Tyra Banks, Thalia, Lisa Marie Presley, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick.

The Gibson had a retail value of $3,153 before it was signed.

And beginning this morning and throughout the week, it's being auctioned exclusively through The Early Show.
