To: Coldplay, Duran Duran, Axis of Justice/Lollapalooza 2003 (Jane's Addiction, Audioslave, The Donnas, The Distillers and Jurassic 5):

Last year, your fans signed a petition calling for the release of political prisoner, Phuntsog Nyidron, the Tibetan nun jailed for singing songs of freedom. By highlighting her case at your concerts, you supported an international effort calling upon the Chinese government to release the longest-serving female political prisoner in Tibet.

Amnesty International is THRILLED to announce Phuntsog was finally set free on February 24th, 2004.

We would like to take the opportunity to not only share this momentous news with you, but to thank you and your fans for supporting this campaign. In addition, many of you have been supporting the vital human rights work of Amnesty International and it has impacted the organization greatly. Please share the good news with your fans, and thank them for exercising their right in making a difference.

Again, we thank you for the vital role each of you have played in the release of Phuntsog Nyidron!

We look forward to more successes in the new year!

Thank you!

Your friends at Amnesty International
