Newly Reunited Band Scores Top 20 Debut in the U.S.
Marking their highest debut since 1983's Seven and the Ragged Tiger, beloved band Duran Duran has been welcomed back with open arms, making chart topping debuts around the world with their latest CD Astronaut (Epic Records).
Astronaut is the first new music from the original five members of Duran Duran in over a decade and has been hailed by fans and critics around the world. Today, Duran Duran landed at #17 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart and made an exciting #3 debut in the UK, a #2 debut in Italy, with similar stories around the world. The band is also riding a smash hit with first single "(Reach Up For The) Sunrise." The album also placed #1 on the SoundscanÂ’s music DVD chart, and this weeks #1 internet album chart.
Duran Duran will be guests of the Ellen Degeneres show and Last Call with Carson Daly on October 21 and the Late Late show on October 25th.
The band will embark on a national tour in February 2005.
