Duran Duran Live at Singapore Indoor Stadium, Dec 16, 2003
The most highly anticipated tour of the year is coming to Singapore! For the first time in 18 years, the original members of Duran Duran are back featuring Simon LeBon on vocals, Nick Rhodes on keyboards, Andy Taylor on guitar, John Taylor on bass and Roger Taylor on drums. They just sold out their London gig in 4 minutes. Its really an honor that Duran Duran has chosen Singapore as its only stop in Asia says LAMC Productions, the shows promoter.
Borrowing their name from a character in the cult 60s science fiction movie Barbarella, Duran Duran first achieved global fame in the early 80s with their catchy synth-pop tunes, a strong visual image, and expensively produced videos which enjoyed endless rotation on MTV. By 1983 Duran Duran were unquestionably, the most popular teen idols in the World. With an impressive run of Top 10 hits such as Rio, Girls on Film, "Union Of The Snake", "New Moon On Monday", "The Reflex" (a UK/US number 1), "The Wild Boys", and "A View To A Kill", the latter a James Bond movie theme which gave Duran Duran a second US chart-topper. In 1993 the song "Ordinary World" became a major hit (USA number 3/UK number 6). It was followed by "Come Undone", which reached number 7 in America. The Reunion Tour marks the first time that the original five members of Duran Duran will perform Live in Singapore!
