DURAN DURAN ADD THIRD WEMBLEY, A SECOND MANCHESTER & NEW SHOWS IN NEWCASTLE AND NOTTINGHAM DUE TO PHENOMENAL DEMAND!

When tickets for DURAN DURAN’S first UK tour in eighteen years went on sale last Friday (12th December) the box offices and telephone hotlines were bombarded with calls, sending them into meltdown as fans rushed to get tickets for the four much anticipated shows. By Saturday morning two additional dates had been added (a second Wembley Arena and another show at Birmingham’s NEC Arena). By Monday these two were also close to sold out – so today the band announced that they would add four additional ‘Homecoming’ concerts in April, as follows:

Sunday April 11 Nottingham Arena ***
Tuesday April 13 Wembley Arena, London
Wednesday April 14 Wembley Arena, London
Thursday April 15 SECC, Glasgow
Saturday April 17 Manchester Evening News Arena
Sunday April 18 NEC Arena, Birmingham
Monday April 19 NEC Arena, Birmingham
Wednesday April 21 Manchester Evening News Arena ***
Thursday April 22 Newcastle Arena ***
Saturday April 24 Wembley Arena, London ***

These highly anticipated shows will mark the first time that the original band members of SIMON LEBON, NICK RHODES, ROGER TAYLOR, JOHN TAYLOR and ANDY TAYLOR have toured the UK together since they performed at Live Aid in 1985 and promise to be one of the biggest concert events of 2004.

The ten dates in Nottingham, London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow, will launch the band’s 2004 World Tour, just prior to the release of their new album.

Tickets for the four new shows will go on sale to members of the Duran Duran fan community (duranduranmusic.com) tomorrow (Thursday), at 9.00 am GST and to the public this Friday (also at 9.00 am). Tickets will be priced at £40.00, £30.00 and £27.50 and are available from the box offices at Wembley Arena (tel: 0870 733 1027/ 0870 060 0870), Glasgow SECC (tel: 0870 040 4000), Manchester Evening News Arena (tel: 0161 930 8000), Birmingham NEC Arena (tel: 0870 909 4133), Nottingham Arena (tel: tbc) and Newcastle Arena (tel: tbc).
